About the Brewery...

Fuller’s is also the last remaining family-owned brewery in London and many of its 361 pubs provide a welcome respite from the rigours of city life. London Pride is brewed on the banks of the Thames, downriver at Chiswick, where records show that beer has been created on site for well over 300 years. It was recently announced as the official beer of the London Marathon.

About the Beer...

Created in 1995 to commemorate 150 years of the founding of the Fuller, Smith and Turner company, 1845 is a strong, amber-red beer with a Victorian accent.  Head brewer Reg Drury sought out rarely used amber malt as the foundation of his recipe and used it generously along with plenty of Golding hops to re-create the character of a 19th-century ale.  Bottle-conditioned for freshness, it was an immediate hit and has become a permanent fixture in the Fuller's portfolio.  The number of awards 1845 has won almost say it all, but expect a full-bodied, richly malty beer that is nonetheless highly quaffable, with a keen bitterness to offset the toffee notes and tangy orange notes adding contrast in the background.

PLEASE NOTE: As this beer ferments in the bottle sediment will exist.  As a guide store upright and pour extremely carefully.
