About the Brewery... 

Wickwar Brewery was founded in 1990 when Master Brewer Ray Penny took the brave step of opening his own brewery on the site of an old ‘Coopers Shop’ in Wickwar Gloucestershire. Ray is very proud of his hand crafted, award-winning Beers, brewed using only the finest English floor malted barley, wheat, subtle blends of local hops and fresh Cotswold water.

About the Beer...

Big, flavoursome and complex, as all good porters should be, Wickwar's pride is a bright ruby beer with a winey, fruity, chocolaty nose with just a hint of liquorice.  The taste is smooth, sweet and grapey, rich in dark malts with a little bite of liquorice.  The texture is delicate and airy, which means this beer is not too heavy for its considerable strength.  Good, long finish, too, dry, chocolaty and bitter, with light notes lingering.

PLEASE NOTE:  As this beer ferments in the bottle sediment will exist.  As a guide store upright and pour extremely carefully.
